Many choir members said good-bye to their hosts, and we headed to Expo Haringvliet. We dined outside next to the water, and enjoyed local delicacies. This meal was generously provided for us by MC Manitoba. Some choir members even ate the herring, although with mixed reactions.
We were shown a short video on how the sluizen gates were created, to prevent another disastrous flood like that of 1953. We also took a quick tour of the gates.
We spent rest of the afternoon and early evening driving to Neuwied. Here, the host families were waiting for us at Evangelische Mennonitengemeinde Neuwied. We went our separate ways for supper and the evening.
